Freeze Dried & Fresh Rose Petals
In the Victorian era roses were a symbol of undying love. This tradition has carried to today and roses and rose petals are a favorite in the planning process of weddings. Rose petals are a lovely gesture, and inspire romance just at their sight. Rose petals are used in a wide variety of areas during a wedding.
The Flower Girl can use rose petals to sprinkle a walkway as a way to create a stunningly, beautiful entrance for the bride as she walks down the aisle to meet her husband-to-be. Rose petals can also be used in lieu of confetti or rice tossing. You can purchase them in cups from your florist and give them to your guests as they enter the church or reception venue. They are also a nice touch to sprinkle on reception tables.
If your wedding party includes a flower girl, depending on her age, you may want to hold a practice run a few times before the wedding. Fill her basket with popcorn and have her practice the walkway sprinkle a few times. This will be fun for both of you!
Whether you choose fresh or freeze dried rose petals is merely a personal choice. Freeze dried petals today look, feel, and smell as if they just came off the stems, and they are an excellent choice if you would like to preserve your petals as one of your mementos of the big day.
