My daughter received a beautiful and brilliantly-worded wedding thank you card the other day. Her husband’s uncle and his partner finally decided to marry after many long years of being together. The couple sent out gorgeous, professionally printed wedding invitations in white and gold. After the wedding was over, the newlyweds dutifully sent their matching thank you notes. What was inside, though, was truly thoughtful and quite different.

On the front of the card was a wonderful picture of the radiant bride in her gown, and the handsome groom in matching white tuxedo on their wedding day. This was of course a keepsake for everyone who attended the wedding and/or sent wedding gifts. In addition to having the printer emboss the words thanking the guests, they added another section asking all guests to join them on their first year anniversary. There were four titles with lines for the bride and groom to complete the following:

• the date of the party or anniversary
• the time of the party,
• the address of the party,
• and whether it was formal or casual.

I thought this was an extra special thank you, as the couple expects to continue to celebrate their union with family and friends.
