Why Do Your White Bridal Shoes not Match Your White Wedding Gown?
Choosing a white bridal shoe can be a challenge sometimes. This is for a number of reasons. Colors, not just whites, vary greatly both in nature as well as from designer to designer. This can be for a few reasons. When looking at a color spectrum wheel, white is comprised by blending the primary colors red, blue and green (RGB). In an effort to create a unique color, artists and designers often experiment by using more of one and less of another. This can create a color that at first glance is white, but when compared to another garment that is supposedly white, they differ. The difference can be subtle or dramatic.
Another reason has to do with material. Some materials absorb dye better than others. As an example, satin (usually a man-made material) reacts to color more quickly than does silk, a natural fiber and more dense. To avoid having a bridal shoe that doesn’t match your wedding gown, it is advisable to do the following:
* Always take a color swatch of your dress even when window shopping for shoes.
* If your dress is silk, bear in mind that a dyeable satin shoe may not turn out the same white. The material of the shoe should be the same as the dress fabric.
* After you have purchased your bridal shoes, especially if you live in a humid climate, wrap your shoes in a breathable (colorless) fabric, such as cotton (never plastic), place them in their box, and keep them out of the sun. Humidity, the sun and air can alter the color over time.
